According to Professor Ogbonna, “The Human Nutrition and Dietetics programme is strategically designed to address one of the major challenges in public health, nutrition-related diseases. Our goal at SUMAS is to train professionals who can provide evidence-based dietary interventions and promote better nutritional health outcomes for our communities.”

Also present to welcome the team were the Registrar, Dr. Anselem U. Onah, the University Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Monica Eze, and other top officers of the university. The accreditation panel will go around the campus to inspect lecture halls, laboratories, nutrition clinics, libraries, and other support facilities essential for effective teaching and research.

He noted that accreditation visits are vital for ensuring the continuous improvement of academic quality across Nigerian universities.

The visit is expected to conclude with an exit briefing, during which the team will present its observations and recommendations to the university management.
