SUMAS IGBO-ENO CHANCELLOR, THE PRO-CHANCELLOR AND THE VICE-CHANCELLOR HOLD STRATEGIC MEETING
The Pro-Chancellor of the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences, SUMAS, Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, Reverend Monsignor Professor Doctor Obiora Francis Ike, and the SUMAS Vice-Chancellor Professor James Chukwuma Ogbonna paid a working visit to the SUMAS Chancellor, His Royal Majesty, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oyo State Nigeria, in his city palace at the Victoria Island, Lagos.
The meeting held today, Saturday, 8th February, 2025, deliberated extensively on ways and means to add needful value for the envisaged progress and development SUMAS, Igbo-Eno Enugu State, founded and established in 2022 by Governor Ifeanyichukwu Lawrence Ugwuanyi, who also as the Visitor to the SUMAS, Igbo-Eno, in year 2022 appointed the pioneer Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council Reverend Monsignor Professor Doctor Obiora Francis Ike, as well as the pioneer Chancellor, His Royal Majesty Oba Francis Olusola Alao, Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oyo State Nigeria.
The National Universities Commission, NUC, approved the provisional licence for the take-off of the Enugu State University of Medical and Applied Sciences, SUMAS, Igbo-Eno, as the 219th University in Nigeria, and the third State-owned University of Medical Sciences in Nigeria, first being the Ondo State University of Medical Sciences, followed by the Bayelsa University of Medical Sciences.
