Mr Anselem U Onah

Until his appointment as the Registrar of the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Mr Anselem U Onah was the Acting Registrar of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Mr Onah started work as a University Administrator in 1992 as the Faculty Officer of the Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, Faculty Officer, Faculty of Business Administration, Personnel Officer, College of Medicine, Housing Officer, Student Affairs and Deputy Registrar in charge of School of Postgraduate Studies all in Enugu Campus of the University of Nigeria.

Mr Onah moved to the main Campus of the University of Nigeria in 2015 to head the Personnel Department and later served as Secretary, the Centre for Environmental Management and Control, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Research and Centre for Distance and e-Learning. Mr Onah rose to the rank of Director in 2021 and was appointed Acting Registrar of UNN in June 2022. He was a member of the University of Nigeria Governing Council from 2009 to 2013.

Mr A U Onah had served satisfactorily in over forty University Committees and received several letters of commendation from the University of Nigeria. He also served as two-time Vice Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, UNN branch and Chairman of the Association of Nigeria University Professional Administrators, UNN branch. Mr Onah has attended several national and international conferences, training and workshops. Mr Onah was appointed Pioneer Registrar of the State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) with effect from 6th September 2022.
