The course reviews the historical beginnings of settlements; and deals in greater details with the Physical and socio-economic elements of human settlements today and their role in regional and national development. Land, its tenure and uses – residential, industrial, commercial, agricultural and institutional. Transportation in today’s urban settlements. The course examines the legal and administrative controls encountered.
