Computer Applications in Chemical Engineering Design

Introduction to various general purpose mathematical, process modelling and simulation, optimization and specialized software packages. Development of simple software for chemical engineering process calculations and simulations. Application of the software to solve typical problems in fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, mass and energy balances, unit operations, reactor engineering, and process equipment design and control. Case studies on the application of such computer packages as Excel, MATLAB, CHEMCAD, Aspen, HYSYS to Chemical Engineering process and plant design.
