Computer Applications in Architecture

An introduction to the fundamentals of computer hardware and software. The concept of the Windows© operating system and its use. Basics of computer networking and history of Computer Aided Design. Overview of operating systems that host applications for Architectural work; Identify Applications suitable for various tasks associated role of the Architect such as (but not limited to) voice recording software for audio brief taking, email as a means of receiving time stamped briefs that count for valid legal practice document, video streaming applications for on-site reports and preliminary site visits, CAD/BIM applications for drafting and design, vector and Raster Graphic manipulating applications for adjusting other types of graphical data often incorporated in the architect’s electronic/printed documents. Explore the use of Microsoft Office Suite or LibreOffice for drafting reports, creating automated bills/fees.
