Building Components & Methods I

Basic building materials and their characteristics – stones, building ceramics, concrete and concrete products, building materials (mortars), timber and timber products. Traditional uses of the materials and their use in contemporary buildings. Building types to include bungalows, two floors, three floors. Manufactured industrial building materials such plastics, rubbers, mastics, gaskets, glass, bituminous felt, ceramics, sheet metals asphalt, insulation materials (for sound, for light, for heat), building materials for fixation such nails, screws, bolts, nuts, rivets, hooks etc.
