Basic Physics in Radiology

Electrostatics, physical factors governing capacitance, charging and discharging capacitors and their uses in radiological equipment. Magnetism, current electricity, conductors, insulators, semiconductors, Superconductors; their physical basis and applications in radiological equipment.  Electromagnetic induction, principles of a moving coil meter, the alternating current, the transformer, current, electronic and element of logic circuitry. Basic computer architecture and peripherals.  Rectification, electrical hazards and prevention.   Electromagnetic induction – mutual and self-induction principles and construction of the transformer parameters; uses of mutual and self-inductance in auto transformers and high tension transformers.  Solid state devices and applications   in radiology.  A.C. theory, CRL circuits, and impedance.
