General Phytochemical Methods in Drug Analysis

Plant collection, drying and processing. Extraction methods including marceration, percolation, Soxhlet extraction (Clavenger apparatus) and count-current methods and others. Separation and isolation of constituents. Chromatographic techniques (analytical and preparative, paper, conventional column, HPLC, DCCC, GC, gel filtration, modern liquid chromatography, ion-exchange chromatography, flash chromatography, moderate pressure liquid chromatography and affinity chromatography, VLC etc). Adsorbents in chromatography, applications.
