Structural Analysis II

Plates:  Introduction, basic equations of thin plates of rectangular and circular shapes under various edge conditions with numerical examples.  Shells:  Introduction, classification, equilibrium and strain displacement equations for arbitrary shell element, translational shells and shells of revolution.  Principles of precasting: statically determinate and indeterminate structures.  Yield-line theory for slabs of rectangular shapes.  Introduction to numerical techniques of analysis: finite element, finite difference and finite strip.
